Hard Path: A Bold, Unapologetic Display Font
Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use
- Test in black and white first. Color can mask spacing issues or unintended optical illusions—especially in the lowercase “g” and “y.”
- Check small-size readability on real mockups, not just screen previews. Print a 12pt sample on your target paper stock.
- Compare uppercase vs. lowercase usage. Uppercase dominates; lowercase offers nuance—but only at 36pt+ in print or 42pt+ on screen.
- Review spacing carefully. Default tracking often needs +20–40 units for headlines. Kern pairs like “To”, “Fr”, and “Wa” manually.
- Test font pairing early. Try Hard Path beside a trusted serif font, sans serif font, script font, handwritten font, and another display font—note which combo feels resolved, not reactive.
- Confirm commercial licensing. This is a commercial font—verify permissions for client deliverables, digital products, and printable design assets before committing.
